LEGAL INFO:
We are a registered Mexican Tour Company. We pay our taxes in Mexico and are fully legal to operate in Mexico. We have a Mexican business license.
Most, if not all of our competitors, operate in a somewhat gray area and have sucessfully done so for years. Techically speaking if you do business in Mexico, you have to be registered in Mexico, have a Mexican business license, be either a citizen or permanent resident, and pay taxes in Mexico. In practice this has not ever been enforced in this industry, and the loophole is that other companies claim all their business is in the US or Canada. However technically speaking, as soon as they hire any services in Mexico, like guides, or book transportation, they are doing business in Mexico. They can use the argument that they are just a group of travelers traveling together, if challenged, and as long as no money changes hands in Mexico, they can get away with it. Like I said, none have ever had an issue, but if you feel more comfortable using a company that is certified and 100% legal, then we are probably the only option.
